The Patient Participation Group (PPG) at Bournbrook Varsity Medical Centre is the important link between surgery and patients.
It was set up in 2011 to hear & understand the views of patients. We are always looking for ways to improve and build on the services we offer our patients and the community. Our PPG act as the ‘voice’ of our patients to discuss how improvements can be made for the benefit of patients and the Practice.
The members of our PPG meet on a quarterly basis usually with the GP Partner and Operations Manager. The aim of these meetings is to discuss the services on offer, ask for suggestions and also to inform the members of what improvements have been made. Members of our PPG come away with a better understanding of the services and processes discussed.
Our PPG also support us by helping during flu season to offer refreshments and support our local St Mary’s Hospice through the collection of donations from raffles and book/cake sales. They also come in to administer surveys to patients in the waiting area and encourage sign up to our PPG.
