Booking an Appointment

For all appointments (routine and urgent) please complete an online form. If you dont have access to the internet please call Reception on 0121 472 0129 who can fill in the form on your behalf. 

A Doctor will review your request and you will get a same day response (Monday-Friday 8am-6pm).

 

Extended Access - Evenings & Weekends

Bournbrook Varsity Medical Centre is a part of the Edgbaston Primary Care Network (PCN) and can offer evening and weekend face to face GP, Nurse and Healthcare Assistant appointments at Harborne Medical Practice. The extended hours appointments will be booked by our reception staff as usual but patients will be seen at Harborne Medical Practice.  The addresses and telephone number to ring if you needed to cancel or change an appointment is:

Home Visits

Please complete our online form before 10.00am please.

Home visits are for patients who are too ill or infirmed to attend the surgery. Please give the receptionist as much detail as possible so that the doctor can prioritise the visits.

Please note that home visits take up to five times longer than if you come to the centre.

Cancel an Appointment

It is important that you inform the reception staff if you are unable to attend your appointment, this will allow that appointment to be offered to another patient. If you fail to notify the Practice that you are unable to attend, you will be sent a letter informing you that you have defaulted from your appointment. Persistent defaulters maybe removed from the list.

Text Reminder Service

We have a texting service which allows you to receive confirmation and reminders about your appointments.

To have this service you will need to register by completing a consent form.

Please remember to update your contact details with us when you change address, telephone numbers and email address.

Late For Your Appointment

Please attend your appointment on time, if you are late you may not be seen. If you are not seen you will not be able to rearrange your appointment until the next working day-except in the event of an medical emergency that requires immediate attention.

Interpreter

If you require an interpreter to attend with you when you see your Doctor please make this clear when filling in the online triage form.

Training Practice

We are a training practice and you may be offered an appointment with a GP registrar. These doctors are fully qualified will have had experience in several hospital specialties. They are completing their specialist training as a GP.

We also teach medical students and sometimes you may be asked to see the doctor or nurse with a student present. You will always be asked beforehand if this is acceptable and you may ask for the student to withdraw if you prefer to have your consultation in private.
